We now have official details regarding the Apple tablet computer. What we know is that:
- It is called iPad
- It has a 9.7" capacitive touchscreen ISP LCD display
- It runs the iPhone OS
- It will sync and work with most iPhone apps
- It has a custom build A4 processor that runs at 1 GHz
- It has a standard 30 pin iPod connector
- It will support 802.11n, blutooth 2.1 and optional 3G
- It will start at $499 with 16GB of internal storage
Unfortunately, it will not have:
- Adobe's Flash support
- Third party apps multitasking
- Built-in camera
Overall, I believe it is a great product. I can definitely see myself using one for travel and around the house. It will especially be useful for catching up on news and e-mail as well as social applications before bedtime. This will be version 1.0 of the iPad, and I expect future version of it to have new technologies and enhancements to the software.
