Playstation 3 Sales Surge

Sales of Sony's Playstation 3 console surged to 75,931 on the Playstation Slim first week of availability.  On the previous week it only sold 37,167 consoles, when only the "fat" model was available. That translates to a 104% sales increase. X-Box which also dropped the price of its Elite version to $299 only saw a 32% increase. This proves that $299 is the sweet spot in the consumers' mind. They get a lot of machine for a PS3 at $299. It inclueds a built-in Blu-ray player and the Playstation Network is free of charge.
